In this industry, observation is an important part of the learning process.

Watching experienced responders assess a scene, prioritise patients and communicate under pressure helps trainees understand what effective practice looks like. But observation alone is not enough.

Responders must also develop adaptable habits for assessing danger, prioritising action, communicating clearly and working safely when the situation does not follow a script. These are complex skills. The kind of skills that you cannot practise in real life without putting people at risk.

Interactive spaces provide a safe, controlled environment where organisations can bring these layers of training together. Learners can practise anatomy, patient assessment, CPR and radio communication, while scenarios introduce additional challenges such as distressed relatives, changing conditions or multiple casualties.

The experience can be repeated, adapted and followed by reflection, helping trainees understand not only what they did, but why they did it and how they could respond differently next time.

01What is a BLIS suite?

BLIS stands for Blended Interactive Simulation System. It is a software-driven interactive room that installs into a space you already have — no fixed rig and no rebuild. Content wraps the walls and the floor, and scenarios are controlled from one place.

02Do we need a purpose-built room?

No. Any room can become a BLIS suite. Our reference build is a 4 × 4 m suite, and we work to your exact dimensions rather than asking you to work to ours.

03Who installs it?

A third-party partner trained by Gener8 installs your interactive room, and we visit on site to verify it meets our standards — or supervise your own contractor remotely. We can also work alongside your estates team or existing contractors.

04What happens after the install?

Your journey does not end when the install is done. Your first call with our installation team covers your space, your requirements and what you want to create. While the installation happens, our design team works to your dimensions so you have content ready from day one.

05Do we have to make our own content?

Only if you want to. You get access to a wide range of generic and sector-specific scenarios and can start straight away with no software training. Our in-house design team also builds bespoke simulations with you, and we teach your team to create and edit content themselves.

06What support do you provide?

Ongoing support is part of the package rather than an add-on. In the words of one client: “Unlike many other suppliers, whose service and involvement drops off following purchase of their product, Gener8’s support continues at the same high level throughout.”

07What is the difference between projection and LED?

Everything you can do in a projection room carries over to LED, and LED adds things projection cannot match: no shadows, so presenters can walk right up to the wall; it works in any light with no need to dim the room; it is weather-proof; it goes around corners and into any shape; and it never goes out of focus.

08Can it integrate with the systems we already use?

Yes. We integrate existing systems so everything works together inside your simulation ecosystem, and our ecosystem integrates with multiple third-party debrief platforms.

09Which sectors do you work with?

Healthcare, education, emergency services and military simulation are where most of our installations sit, but the room is sector-agnostic. If you cannot see a case study for what you have in mind, it does not mean it cannot be done — talk to our team.
